Dave Johnson, Assistant Vice President of John Hancock Global Resourcing, has been named one of the inaugural winners of COLOR Magazine's All-Inclusive awards, joining just two other individuals, and three corporations.

"I was deeply honored to receive one of the All-Inclusive Diversity Awards and proud to represent John Hancock," says Johnson.

"Given the growing economic base of the diverse community, it has never been more critical for John Hancock to support and encourage qualified and cost-effective diverse suppliers. With the size and stature of John Hancock, we have a unique opportunity to make a true difference," adds Johnson. "We are committed to building a world-class supplier-diversity program, which will require the support of virtually all of John Hancock's business areas."

The honorees were selected by Color Media Group's advisory committee, which includes prominent members of the business community. Honorees were chosen based on their contributions toward change and inclusion in the following categories: Leadership, Change Agent and Supplier Diversity.

The winners of the 2008 All-Inclusive Awards are:

Josefina Bonilla-Ruiz, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of COLOR Magazine, states: "This event highlights Boston's advancement in inclusion and diversity for professionals of color."

Johnson joined John Hancock in, 2002 and was promoted to AVP of Strategic Sourcing & Services in 2005. He authored and implemented the Supplier Diversity Policy at John Hancock and Manulife. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the New England Minority Supplier Development Council and the Advisory Board of the Center for Women & Enterprise, and actively participated in the CWE Mentorship Program.

"By allowing me to make this time commitment to these organizations, John Hancock and Manulife have made a strong statement about their commitment to diversity." As head of John Hancock's Supplier Diversity efforts, Johnson earlier this year coordinated the One on One Business Opportunity supplier-diversity fair, along with Nancy Hamel, Director, Global Expense Management & Sourcing. The event, hosted by John Hancock, EMC2 and Blue Cross Blue Shield at John Hancock's South Boston headquarters, drew dozens of small minority- and women-owned firms, and earned rave reviews.

While he has moved into a new position in Information Systems and passed on the leadership of the Supplier Diversity Program to Hamel, Johnson remains very committed and involved in diversity through his participation on John Hancock's Diversity Advantage Strategy Team.
